CX Practice, week four

OH OH! There was a course extension last night. Yep, and it flows really well. We added a Randy loop and a new Mark loop. The Randy loop now includes a climb and descent along Center St.  The Mark loop is techy with multiple tight turns and what will work into being some firmer sand.

The turnout was again awesome. Couple new faces thanks to the Skiba family. The course is really fast now and is getting slipperier each week as Jonathan found out. At about a 6+ min lap it's just about perfect and has a bit of everything now.

The first race is just 9 days away ~ KC Cup

Then it's all on the line for the USGP ~ Madison

Randy has the flier up for the Omaha weekend too ~ Omaha CX

I'm running it down to the wire on getting the second bike built up. The Hakkalugi was pushed back a couple weeks and it looks like I'll be building it up just a few days before Madison (fingers crossed). Parts kit is all on order though. Shimano came through in the clutch as most everything I needed just came into stock. Which leaves the last piece of the puzzle...embrocation.

If anyone wants some Mad Alchemy goods, swing into the shop and get your order in. I picked up some ECJ summer embro back in July and love it. Many of the oils used in these all natural products have anit-inflamation and anti-bacterial attributes. They'll not only keep you feeling toasty but also help with skin health. Gotta take good care of the bodies largest organ you know. Anyway, the 4 oz. jars run about $21 and we'll have training towels for post race clean-up and waterbottles too.

Damn, now I've gone off and got myself all worked up again about 'cross season. Even smells like 'cross season outside. Bring on the fun!

That was fun last night. Next week I'll skip the Chinese food for lunch and swap the road wheels for the CX wheels. That Swope park weekend looks like a blast. I want to try and make that one if I don't go to CO.

The beauty of 'cross, Jono, it hurts like a mo'fo but only lasts for an hour. Then you do it all again the next day!
