The Short You've Been Waiting For

It's that time of year, when all the cool new gear that I saw in Vegas back in September starts rolling in. And one of the coolest pieces of off-road gear showed up today, the Jett Raptor short. Jett is pretty new, maybe a year or two old but they hit this one out the park. No matter what you're looking for in a baggy short, this thing has it.

The first thing I look for is an elastic back panel. With an ass like mine you need the extra stretch to keep the waist band where it should be. If a short has that, I'm pretty happy, but the Raptor keeps giving.

You also get dual vents on the front and back of the leg. The side pockets are designed with gear hauling in mind so you'll get no sagging or twisting. The attached eyeglass wipe is a nice touch too. Probably the coolest feature though is the silk weight liner at the cuff. You can see in the photo that on the front of the leg the silk weight material runs further up the leg allow the short to glide over your thigh while you pedal. The seem is sewn right on the edge so there's no rolled cuff to grab your leg either. Totally pro.

Jett is a small Fort Collins based brand but you can tell the stuff is designed by guys that really get out and ride. The Raptor will set the standard which all other baggies are measured.
