Super Saturday

Good group showed up at Shims Saturday. After a quick look at potential wind conditions we took a chance and started out with a bit of a tailwind in hopes of the planned afternoon wind shift.

The ride was a clinic in patience as we suffered no fewer than 4 flats on the gravel spewed roads. The first victim of the day was Jeremy who not only flatted once but then got the "old tube in the seat bag" double flat. That with a good slice in his tire sent him back home.

We headed out 370 to 50 where we lost Vaughn as he pulled off after already riding to Shims. The G6 continued on towards Flying J and on to Ashland. Shim was next as he punctured just before the turn south. Roads were great all the way to South Bend and beyond as we picked up our expected tailwind in Louisville. Chris found flat number 4 on highway 50 after which we were cleared for home. 100k in just a shade over 3 hours. Good fast ride for January. Legs are feeling stronger and stronger.

I hate to say it, but you rode pretty well. Next weekend we turn the screws a little. Looking like gravel.
